Composite & cedar decks
New decks, rebuilds, resurfacing and repairs, from low platforms to rooftop and second-storey decks with stairs. Composite for no upkeep, wood for the natural look.
Composite & cedar decks
Most of what we build is decks: ground-level platforms off the back door, elevated decks off a kitchen, garage-top decks and multi-level decks that step down a sloped lot. We frame it, board it, rail it and build the stairs, so the whole thing comes from one crew with one price.

What's included
Ground-level, elevated, second-storey and multi-level decks, framed for the load and the slope of your yard.
Tear out the old deck and build new on a fresh, properly sized frame.
Sound framing? New composite or cedar boards and new railing, for less than a full rebuild.
Straight runs, turn staircases and landings, built to code with matching rail.
Rooftop and garage-top decks with stairs and lighting, like a 630 sq ft rooftop deck we finished in about a week.
Planters, benches and lights in the rail posts, framed right into the deck.
Rotted boards and framing, water damage and waterproofing under the deck. If the frame isn't worth saving, we show you why.
Low platforms, shed platforms with a ramp and entry landings, often done in a day or two.

“Great experience working with [the Black Bear team]. Their mighty crew was professional, punctual, and very skilled. It’s very obvious they take pride in their work, which shows in perfectly aligned corners, clean cuts, clean workspace, and very respectful demeanor. The pricing was competitive compared to four other quotes.”

“They completed my rooftop deck—over 630 sq. ft. including the stairs and lighting—in about a week, and I’m very happy with how everything turned out. … One thing I really appreciated was how transparent [the owner] was with the pricing. He clearly explained the material, labor, and waste costs, so there were no surprises.”

“I have 2 decks replaced by Black Bear Deck and Fencing and what an amazing job they did. I asked for some specific type of planters to be built into the back deck and they did an excellent job. My decks are beautiful.”
